Farmington offers fitness classes, community events, enrichment classes, and a well stocked library for our residents.

The goal is to enrich individuals, families, and the community through the provision of services, facilities, and programs which improve the quality of life in Farmington. We have something for everyone!


Farmington Civic Center


The Farmington Civic Center is proud to provide its citizens with three fantastic community venues for fitness, fun, learning and gathering.


The Civic Center offers a wide variety of youth and adult activities including 2 indoor pools, a 1/8 mile indoor track, 3 full sized gymnasiums for volleyball, basketball or tennis, and a fitness center featuring the latest and best equipment.


The Water Park provides two exciting slides, a peaceful float down the lazy river, or splashing around in our interactive playground. The Farmington Water Park is the place to spend your summer days!


The Centene Center upscale auditorium and conference center is perfect for wedding ceremonies and receptions, banquets, business seminars, concerts, plays, church gatherings, local drama, class reunions and all types of fine art entertainment.


Farmington Public Library


The Farmington Public Library is a dynamic resource that promotes free and open access to information, materials, and services to all members of the community. The Library serves to advance knowledge, foster creativity, encourage the exchange of ideas, build community comradery, and enhance the quality of life.


Farmington Public Library proudly houses the Mineral Area’s most comprehensive genealogical and historical collections. People come to our library from all over the world to research their St. Francois County roots. The library now has subscriptions to Ancestry.com Library Edition and Heritage Quest Online which can be accessed either from the Genealogy Department or the patron computers.


Parks and Recreation


The Farmington Parks and Recreation Department oversees the area’s park system, provides sport offerings – including adult softball, baseball and soccer – and hosts a number of community events– such as Country Days, the Wiggle and Giggle Fishing Derby, Winter Wonderland and other family activities.


Fifteen parks line the streets of the community offering sites for fishing, playgrounds, ball and soccer fields, tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, picnicking and Bar-B-Queing and beautiful open space. One park in particular is dedicated to skateboarders, in-line skaters and BMX riders. The Farmington Skate Park, located at Long Park, is a 30,000 square foot course that is equipped with rails, ramps and obstacles.


E-Government Services


The City of Farmington is pleased to present E-Government Services. Our E-Government services consist of: Action Line, Calendar, Library, Recreation, Utility Billing, Businesses, Municipal Court, Documents, and FAQ.


The mission of the E-Government Services is to provide a means of communication between Farmington residents and City Offices. Requests can be completed online with updated statuses via e-mail. In addition many of the services offered at City Building are no offered online, such as; paying utility bills, seeing upcoming events, paying tickets, signing up for events and classes, checking out books, searching Farmington businesses, downloading documents, and seeing frequently asked questions.
