As Chief of the Farmington Police Department, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our website. Through our adoption of the Community Policing Philosophy, coupled with striving to remain on the forefront of ever changing technology, new enforcement methods and emerging programs, our department is committed to establishing and maintaining a partnership within our community. This website is one mechanism we use to maintain that partnership, and enhance communication within our community.

Chief Chris Bullock


Chief Chris Bullock was sworn in as Farmington’s Chief of Police on January 6th, 2023. He is a lifelong resident, born and raised in St. Francois County. He has been a member of the Farmington Police Department for 30 years, working his way through the ranks from Patrol Officer, to Corporal, to Sergeant, to Lieutenant, to Chief of Police. He began his career in 1985 as a commissioned deputy working for two local lake developments before taking a job with the Bonne Terre Police Department in 1987 where he was promoted to Corporal.  He served with the Bonne Terre Police Department until 1993 at which time he took a position with the Farmington Police Department. 


Police Captain Larry E. Lacey

Captain Larry E. Lacey


Larry Lacey was promoted to Captain in 2023. Cpt. Lacey began his long and illustrious career with the Farmington Police Department back in 1983 as a dispatcher. He was later promoted to dispatch supervisor before becoming a full-time commissioned officer in 1985. In 1993 he was promoted to Corporal, was named Sergeant in 2000, and in 2008 he was promoted to Lieutenant.


Captain Lacey commands the records division, communication division, and the field training program. He is responsible for departmental training and equipment purchases. He also oversees maintenance of the departmental gun range located on Pimville Road. He is responsible for conducting traffic surveys and traffic counts as mandated by the Chief, as well as coordinating with other agencies and organizations before parades and other special events in the city.


In addition to his supervisory duties, Captain Lacey is an accident reconstructionist. He has countless hours of training from the Missouri State Highway Patrol in traffic accident investigation and reconstruction.

Police Lieutenant Jeff Crites

Jeff Crites was promoted to Lieutenant in 2008. Lieutenant Crites began his career in 1991 as a police dispatcher for the department. He became a full-time police officer in 1992 and in 1995 was promoted to Detective. In 1998, he was promoted to Detective Corporal and became commander of the Detective Bureau in 1998 after Richard T. Baker was named Chief.


In 2000, Lieutenant Crites was promoted to Sergeant. In addition to being the Detective Bureau Chief Lieutenant, Crites is also charged with overseeing grounds maintenance for the police department. He supervises the evidence division and the Emergency Operation Center, and conducts all internal affairs investigations for the department. Lieutenant Crites is also responsible for maintaining the department’s Uniform Crime Reports and schedules public speaking requests.


Crites has extensive training in criminal investigative procedures and has investigated over 1000 criminal cases in his tenure with the department. In addition, he has taken coursework in criminal justice and criminal justice administration. Crites is a third generation law enforcement officer. His father Dale is a retired Detective Sergeant with the Missouri Highway Patrol’s Division Of Drug and Crime Control. His grandfather (also Dale) retired a captain with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Police Lieutenant Ryan Barron

Ryan Barron was promoted to Lieutenant over the Road Division in 2023. Lieutenant Barron is a lifelong resident of St. Francois County and a graduate of Farmington High School. He began his career with the Farmington Police Department in January of 1995 while in the Criminal Justice Program at Mineral Area College.  


Upon completion of his Associates Degree, he attended the Mineral Area Law Enforcement Academy and became a reserve police officer with the department upon graduation in June of 1996. In September of 1996, he was hired as a full-time police officer.  In 2001, Lieutenant Barron was promoted to Corporal, then named as a Sergeant in 2008.


Lieutenant Barron currently oversees the daily operations of the Road Officers. He handles scheduling and assists with special events along with many other administrative duties.  He also works with the Code Enforcement Officer on nuisance violations, and is a member of the department's SRT (Special Response Team) and a Field Training Officer.  Lieutenant Barron is also a firearms instructor and range officer.
