News and Notes
Author John McFarland Visiting 3/15/14
St. Louis author John McFarland will be at the library on Saturday, March 15 from 11-1 to discuss his latest title, Annette: A Big, Hairy Mom, which is his first book written for children. From the author's own words: "A little boy lost in the woods is saved by a sasquatch mom suffering from empty nest syndrome. It is a richly illustrated, slightly ironic young reader novel in the best tradition of Roald Dahl. It is funny, poignant, wry and character driven, as well as quickly-plotted and suspenseful."
Update to Remote Access of Online Databases
The library has made it much simpler to access its subscription databases. HeritageQuestOnline, Gale Databases, Ebscohost, and Learning Express Library can all be accessed here. Once you click on a link from the list, you will be prompted to enter your library card number and PIN. Your PIN will be your last name, all lowercase. Please contact the library with any questions.
New Media Enhanced Children's Books
The library has purchased a really cool series of multimedia-enhanced books from AV2 by Weigl. for the Junior Non-Fiction section. The books contain a code that when entered on the AV2 books website allows the child to view additional media related to the title. Use the links below to learn more. We'll be adding lots more titles in the future!
