The Farmington Public Library offers are large variety of programs. We are now offering around 20 programs a month, all of which are free to the public. Some programs require a sign up in order to attend. Please sign up at the library or call us @ 573-756-5779.

Now when you fill out our Bookmarked! Survey, you’ll not only receive books that are picked out just for you, but you’ll also receive small gifts and tools for relaxation and rejuvenation. Are you looking for something different to read? Need help finding a new author? The Farmington Public Library is now offering Bookmarked! – a reading suggestion service for adults, ages 18 and up. Fill out our survey and we’ll bookmark some new reading suggestions just for you. It’s fast, it’s easy, and it could lead you to your next favorite author!


Within two to three business days of filling out our survey, we’ll provide you with new titles to try. We can either email you a list of three to five books or we can bundle the books for you to pick up. The survey can be filled out and submitted online or you can pick one up at the library. Dinner/Dessert and Movie Bundles

The Farmington Public Library presents: Dinner/Dessert and Movie bundles!


Each bundle comes with cookbooks and DVDs checked out to you! We’ll also throw in some popcorn and candy to help make your family movie night a great one!


To sign up simply fill out our Dinner/Dessert and Movie survey online or a paper copy at the library. A staff member will then choose some cookbooks and movies just for you to check out. Then we’ll give you a call when your bundle is ready to be picked up! Participants need a valid library card to sign up.

Classic Book Club

Do you love classic literature? Want to meet with others who love it too? Join the classic book club to reread old favorites, and gain new insight!

The Classic Book Club meeting will be on Thursday, January 11th. There is still time to read Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift.


The book club meets on the 2nd Thursday or every month and is always looking for more participants. Please call the library @ 573-756-5779 if you have questions.



Family Movie Night

Family Movie Night is back at the library! Join us this month for The Polar Express and Prancer on Thursday, December 21st. Popcorn and drinks will be provided by the library, but you may bring your own.

This monthly program is designed to inspire creativity, Kids Crafternoon allows young children to stretch their imaginations as they build and create neat crafts! This month we're garden decorations.

Kids Crafternoon Take-and-Make

Craftstravaganza is a take home craft event where we give out leftover crafts from previous years. This craft DOES require a sign-up! Come to the front desk to have the staff sign you up, or call us at 573-756-5779. We do not take sign ups online.

  • A valid library card is required to sign up for this program. A parent must have a card if someone signing up is under the age of 5.

Sign-up for our next take and make craft program @ Farmington OAKS Senior Center is available! This month we're holding our annual Craftstravaganza event. We will be giving out take home kits from craft events we've held over the last few years.



This program is for anyone over the age of 60. The Senior Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (weather permitting).

Registration is required to get your kits.


The library will not take sign-ups for this program, but you may call us for questions @ 573-756-5779.

Digital Escape Room

The Farmington Public Library Escape from Fairytale Land is here! Anyone may participate in our digital escape room.


The Library will have an online Escape the Room available starting June 22! The link will be posted on our Facebook, Instagram, and website. This will also count as an online event for the Teen and Adult Summer Reading, but anyone can participate for fun! Please make sure to get the code word after you’ve finished escaping if you are counting it as part of your summer reading activity on your board.


Recommended ages are 11 & up.
