Chief Todd Mecey began his career in 1990 with the Farmington Fire Department. He progressed through the ranks, with promotions to Deputy Fire Chief in 1996, Assistant Fire Chief in 1998 and ultimately Fire Chief on May 30, 2008. Chief Mecey has studied, served and trained in all aspects of fire and emergency services to serve the residents and employees of the City of Farmington. His nineteen plus years of dedication to the city comes from his loyalties to the area having been born and raised in Farmington. In addition to his background in the fire service, he also has a background in criminal justice, serving as a patrolman and detective for the City of Farmington for eight years and Emergency Management Director for the City of Farmington for three years.
The Chief plans to maintain a highly trained and well equipped fire department to provide for the residents with the utmost protection and preservation of lives and property.

As Chief of the Fire Department I can attest that my personnel provide the highest quality of fire protection, prevention and education to our great community. The Farmington Fire Department responds to a variety of emergencies such as fires, cardiac emergencies, vehicle accidents, animal rescues, non-emergency assist calls and many other kinds of situations. As firefighters we take our training very serious. Continuing education is a must to stay on top of changing technology. Community involvement allows the fire department to interact with local businesses and other types of organizations in a positive manner.
