Farmington Utility Billing

The Utility Light & Water Office is located at 110 West Columbia Street in downtown Farmington (1st Floor of City Hall/Long Memorial Hall). Our phone number is (573) 756-2620.  For after hours emergencies, please call (573) 327-8966.

Office Hours. Office hours are Monday 7:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. and Tuesday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Our offices are closed on the following holidays:

  • July 4th
  • Labor Day
  • Veterans Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Day after Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Eve
  • Christmas Day
Payment Options. We offer a variety of payment options. You can pay your bill online, request to be setup for auto pay and the amount due will be deduct from your bank account on the due date, mail your payment to the address below, drop the payment in a drop box conveniently located in front of the City Light and Water Office, or come by the office and pay in person.

If you would like to sign-up for auto pay to have the payment come out of your bank account automatically using Electronic Fund Transfers (EFT), download the form and return it to the Utility Billing Office.  EFT Form

Request for Service. To request your service be turned on, you may make an online request using the  Request Utility Services online form or download and fill out the Request for Service form and return to the Utility Billing Office. Request for Service Form

Paperless Billing. To receive your monthly statement via email, please call our office or email us at citylightandwater1@farmington-mo.gov.

Need help paying your bill? You may qualify for energy assistance through East Missouri Action Agency. To apply, call (573) 431-5191 or go to eastmoaa.org. If you do not qualify for energy assistance, you may be eligible for a utility fee payment agreement to defer your payment past the normal disconnect date. Contact our office for more information.

Do you think there is an error? If you believe there is an error with your bill, you must dispute the charge in writing, in person, or by telephone at least 24 hours prior to your disconnect date. The undisputed portion of the bill must be paid in full to avoid disconnection of services.
