Subject:  Residential Utility Fees and Stormwater Buyout Changes Effective:  July 1, 2018

At the April Public Works Committee meeting, an increase in the utility fees related to new home construction was approved.

Effective July 1, 2018, the new utility fee is $1800.  This is an increase from the previous amount of $1200.  The increase was made to ensure that the cost of materials associated with water, sewer, and electric are covered.

Electric:  $800 (previously $900)

Water:    $800 (previously $200)

Sewer:   $200 (with back flow) (previously $100)

In addition, Public Works Director, Larry Lacy, clarified with our building inspectors a fee related to residential stormwater buyout.  It had been standard practice to deduct the first 400 square feet off of the total charge for stormwater buyout on new home construction.  This allowance will no longer be calculated effective July 1, 2018.
