The Farmington Public Library offers are large variety of programs. We are now offering around 20 programs a month, all of which are free to the public. Some programs require a sign up in order to attend. Please sign up at the library or call us @ 573-756-5779.

Letters to Santa

The Farmington Public Library will have a mailbox set up for kids to send a letter to Santa.

Is your child struggling with reading? The Kids Super Readers Club is designed to help kids not only with reading, but comprehension. This group meets twice a month to read a book of their choice. All reading is done at during the meeting.

A Live Reading of the Polar Express

Tuesday, December 3 @ 4 p.m.

All aboard! The Polar Express will be here in December! Come enjoy a live reading of the Polar Express by the conductor himself! Afterwards, grab some hot chocolate and get your picture taken with the conductor!

Adult Craft Night- December

Thursday, December 5 @ 6 p.m.

Feeling crafty but don’t know what to do? Let us help! Join us every month for craft night, featuring cute and creative crafts that anyone would enjoy! The library will provide craft materials, but you are welcome to bring your own too! This month we’re making sock gnomes!

Join us at the Farmington Public Library for a meet-and-greet and book signing with local author, William Shelton. He’ll be here to introduce and sign his new book “Where the Acorns Fall”, which will also be available for purchase.

Do your kids love crafts and sweet treats? Then join us for an afternoon of delicious fun. Kids will build neat edible creations. For December we’re making Christmas snacks! To sign up, please call the library at 573-756-5779 or come in and sign up in person. We do not take online sign ups at this time.

Designed to inspire creativity, Kids’ Crafternoon allows young children to stretch their imaginations as they build and create neat crafts. We’re making Reindeer snow globes and ornaments for December!

Chess club meetings are once a month at the Farmington Public Library! All skill levels are welcome to attend this event. Refreshments are provided by the library.

Join us for a Disney themed craft party! There will be 3 Disney themed crafts for adults to make, 3 crafts for kids, and snacks. There will also be a game for kids and a family-friendly movie! Join us for our next jewelry making class! This month we will be making Christmas charm bracelets. Give this as a unique gift or keep it for yourself! All materials will be provided by the library. This program requires a sign up at the library in order to attend.

After School Book Club- December

After School Book Club

Tuesday, December 17 @ 4 p.m.

Not enough good books in your life? Join the After school Book Club! This club is for kids who enjoy reading, and allows them to discuss good books with their peers. This program includes a small book related craft. This month will be a discussion on George by Alex Gino and the craft is picture frames. Snacks are provided by the library.

It’s a great time of year to learn, teach, or freshen up on some needle work art! Needle Works is for anyone interested in crocheting, knitting, or other types of needle work art. All skill levels are welcome to attend.

The library will be at OAKS Senior Center to present Bingo for Books! Bingo for Books offers a fun, literary twist to an old classic. Score a Bingo, and you could take home a new book!

Food for Fines

Saturday, November 30 2019 – Saturday, January 4 2020

Farmington Public Library will start its annual Food for Fines food drive on Saturday, November 30 and will collect non-perishable food items until Saturday, January 4. For each non-perishable food item donated, the library will waive $1.00 from your late fees. The library will also accept donations if you do not owe money.

Story Time

Every Wednesday @ 10:30 a.m. 

Every Saturday @ 11:30 a.m.

Story time is every Wednesday and Saturday at the library. Story time provides an educational and entertaining experience for kids every week. Kids not only hear a story, but also participate in a neat craft! No sign up is required in order to attend this event. Some dates are subject to change during the summer months due to splash pad story time at the Farmington Water Park and the summer reading program at the library. Please contact the library @ 573-756-5779 to get information on dates and times of these events.
