The Farmington Public Library offers are large variety of programs. We are now offering around 20 programs a month, all of which are free to the public. Some programs require a sign up in order to attend. Please sign up at the library or call us @ 573-756-5779.

Summer Reading Program

June 1 – July 24

The summer Reading Program at the library is well under way! Packet pick up starts June 1st. throughout the months of June and July the library will host a number of online and at home activities that feature the summer reading theme, “Imagine Your Story.” these activites will include craft projects, games, and online trivia. This program is for all ages and a sign up is required for Pre K-12th grade to participate.

Story time at the Splash Pad

Wednesdays

June 17 – August 12

9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Join us at the Farmington water park for a summer of story time at the splash pad! This is a free event for all ages. If you’d like to stay at the water park after story time you must leave and pay the fee before readmission.

 

Adult Summer Reading Craft

Sign up starting June 17

July 1 – July 23

This will be a Take-and-Make craft program available to pick up starting on July 1st!

This craft DOES require a sign-up, which is available now! Come to the front desk to have the staff sign you up, or call us at 573-756-5779.

A valid library card is required to sign up for this program.

This will be a kit that will contain all the supplies needed and instructions to make your very own feather keychain!

This program will count as an “online adult summer reading event” on your Adult Summer Reading Program Bookopoly board! Once your craft is completed, write the code word included in your craft kit on the back of your Bookopoly board to earn your coins for the event. Remember, this project is intended for adults for the summer reading program. We will not be able to provide kits to those under 18.

Online Trivia Night

June 17

6:00 p.m.

The Farmington Public Library is hosting an online trivia event as part of the Adult Summer Reading Program! This program requires a sign up in order to attend. Please call the library @ 573-756-5779 or come in to sign up. An email address is required in order for us to send out codes through Zoom. Please make sure you have a smart phone, tablet, or computer with Zoom downloaded ahead of the scheduled event. This event is for groups of 4-6 people.

Digital Escape Room

The Farmington Public Library Escape from Fairytale Land is here! Anyone may participate in our digital escape room.

The Library will have an online Escape the Room available starting June 22! The link will be posted on our Facebook, Instagram, and website. This will also count as an online event for the Teen and Adult Summer Reading, but anyone can participate for fun! Please make sure to get the code word after you’ve finished escaping if you are counting it as part of your summer reading activity on your board.

Recommended ages are 11 & up.

Note: This event was originally scheduled for Friday, June 12 in the Teen Summer Reading packet. We apologize for the scheduling delay.

Classic Book Club

June 17

6:00 p.m.

Do you love classic literature? Want to meet with others who love it too? Join the classic book club to reread old favorites, and gain new insight! The library is unable to have in person programs at this time, so all book club meetings are done online. In order to join, email Lindsey @ lkelley@farmington-mo.gov. Copies are available on Project Gutenberg.

Imagine Your Story Diorama Craft

July 1-31

Create a diorama for our display case! Make a diorama in a shoebox using any materials you’d like- the only limit is your imagination! Use our Summer Reading theme, “Imagine Your Story” and show us your story in a diorama display.
