The Farmington Public Library offers are large variety of programs. We are now offering around 20 programs a month, all of which are free to the public. Some programs require a sign up in order to attend. Please sign up at the library or call us @ 573-756-5779.

Designed to reflect the interests of today’s teens, the library offers a monthly program of activities for teens. Games, crafts, snacks, and more are a part of these programs. We’re playing Mario Kart in April!

Parkland Writers Circle

Parkland Writers Circle

6:00 p.m.

Interested in writing? Looking for a writing community? Then join us at the Parkland Writers Circle. All experience levels are welcome. This group is geared toward ages 18 and up. This meeting will be a workshop critique session, so please bring 3-4 pages of your writing.

Teen Writers Circle

Teen Writers Circle

6:00 p.m.

Open to high school students, the Teen Writers Circle offers a space for young writers to explore their creative talents. Meetings will feature writing activities and exercises, discussion groups, and workshop sessions to give and receive feedback on their work.

Needle Works

Needle Works

Tuesday, April 24

5:30 p.m.

Join us on the fourth Tuesday of the month for Needle Works! Needle Works is for anyone interested in needle work art. Participants may bring their own supplies. The library provides some materials for participants to try out crocheting and knitting. All skill levels are welcome to attend.

 Banned Book Club

Banned Book Club

Thursday, April 26

6:00 p.m.

The Banned Book Club meets once a month on the last Thursday for book discussion. The book for April is Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult. Extra copies of the book are available for check out at the library. Please email chartel@farmington-mo.gov if you have any specific questions about this club or event.

Every Wednesday @ 10:30 a.m. 

Every Saturday @ 11:30 a.m.

Story time is every Wednesday and Saturday at the library. Story time provides an educational and entertaining experience for kids every week. Kids not only hear a story, but also participate in a neat craft! No sign up is required in order to attend this event.

Learning Resource Class

Learning Resource Class

Every Saturday 4:30 -7:00 p.m.

Every Sunday 2:00- 5:30 p.m.

The Farmington Public Library has weekly computer resource classes every Saturday and Sunday. Anyone over the age of 15 that has a valid library card is welcome to come to the library computer lab at the designated time.

We will be using LearningLibraryExpress to improve computer skills for work and school related activities. This is not a beginners computer class. Please sign up at the library in order to attend. Email vmoore@farmington-mo.gov for more information.

One-on-one Technology Lessons

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays

10:30 a.m.

Sign up for one-on-one technology lessons at the library either in person or  by phone. A qualified member of the staff gives instruction on any topic you wish. Other time slots may be available by appointment.
