Programs

The Farmington Public Library offers are large variety of programs. We are now offering around 20 programs a month, all of which are free to the public. Some programs require a sign up in order to attend. Please sign up at the library or call us @ 573-756-5779.

Live Reading of The Night Before Christmas

Saturday, December 8

4:00 p.m.

Join us and special guest Shannon Skinner at the library for a live reading of “Twas the Night Before Christmas!” Pictures will also be taken after the event. No sign up is required and all ages are welcome to attend.

Candy Construction

Monday, December 10

4:00 p.m.

Do your kids love crafts and sweet treats? Then join us for an afternoon of delicious fun. Kids will build neat edible creations. For December we’re making Holiday themed snacks! To sign up, please call the library at 573-756-5779 or come in and sign up in person.

Jewelry Making

Monday, December 10

6:00 p.m.

This month we will be making snowman earrings. Make a cute gift for a friend or a pair for yourself. Please bring a pair of round-nose and flat-nose or chain-nose jewelry pliers if you have them.

Kids Crafternoon

Tuesday, December 11

4:00 p.m. 

Designed to inspire creativity, Kids’ Crafternoon allows young children to stretch their imaginations as they build and create neat crafts. This month is Handprint Penguins! This program requires a sign up at the library in order to attend.

Winter Wonderland Craft Party

Saturday, December 15

1:00 p.m.

Join us for our winter wonderland craft party! There will be three crafts for adults to make and three for kids. There will also be a hot cocoa bar, photo op cutouts, and a family friendly movie! This program requires a sign up at the library in order to attend.

Needle Works

Tuesday, December 18

5:30 p.m.

Join us on the fourth Tuesday of the month for Needle Works! Needle Works is for anyone interested in needle work art. All skill levels are welcome to attend.

All aboard! The Polar Express will be here December 19! Come enjoy a live reading of the Polar Express by the conductor himself! Afterwards, get your picture taken with the conductor!

Food For Fines

November 24, 2018 – January 5, 2018

It’s time for Food For Fines at the library. You can bring in canned goods to clear fines. 1 can of food equals $1.00 off of your fines! We do not except expired goods. All food will be donated to the local food banks.

Story Time

Every Wednesday @ 10:30 a.m. 

Every Saturday @ 11:30 a.m.

Story time is every Wednesday and Saturday at the library. Story time provides an educational and entertaining experience for kids every week. Kids not only hear a story, but also participate in a neat craft! No sign up is required in order to attend this event.

Learning Resource Class

Every Saturday 1:00 – 6:00 p.m.

The Farmington Public Library has weekly computer resource classes every Saturday and Sunday. Anyone over the age of 15 that has a valid library card is welcome to come to the library computer lab at the designated time.

We will be using LearningLibraryExpress to improve computer skills for work and school related activities. This is not a beginners computer class. Please sign up at the library in order to attend. Email vmoore@farmington-mo.gov for more information.

One-on-one Technology Lessons

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays

10:30 a.m.

Sign up for one-on-one technology lessons at the library either in person or  by phone. A qualified member of the staff gives instruction on any topic you wish. Other time slots may be available by appointment.
