The Farmington Public Library offers are large variety of programs. We are now offering around 20 programs a month, all of which are free to the public. Some programs require a sign up in order to attend. Please sign up at the library or call us @ 573-756-5779.
During COVID-19 most of our regularly scheduled programming is on hold. We do offer several alternative options listed below.
Bookmarked! Health & Wellness Edition
We’re here to make your life better! Now more than ever, it’s important to take care of yourself – mind, body and spirit. Our Bookmarked! service has been expanded in order to promote health and wellness.
Now when you fill out our Bookmarked! Survey, you’ll not only receive books that are picked out just for you, but you’ll also receive small gifts and tools for relaxation and rejuvenation. Let us help you enjoy your life by providing treats to nourish your soul. Treat yourself to the services we have to offer by filling out this survey to enroll.
Are you looking for something different to read? Need help finding a new author? The Farmington Public Library is now offering Bookmarked! – a reading suggestion service for adults, ages 18 and up. Fill out our survey and we’ll bookmark some new reading suggestions just for you. It’s fast, it’s easy, and it could lead you to your next favorite author!
Within two to three business days of filling out our survey, we’ll provide you with new titles to try. We can either email you a list of three to five books or we can bundle the books for you to pick up. The survey can be filled out and submitted online or you can pick one up at the library. Story Time Take-and-Make
January, February, and March 2021
Due to the recent spike of COVID-19 cases in our area, the Farmington Public Library will not be having any in person Story Time on Wednesdays during the month of December. We will offer take home story time kits every Wednesday on a first-come, first-serve basis. Kits will be unavailable on days other than Wednesday. Please call the library @ 573-756-5779 if you have questions about this event.
Dinner/Dessert and Movie Bundles
The Farmington Public Library presents: Dinner/Dessert and Movie bundles!
Each bundle comes with cookbooks and DVDs checked out to you! We’ll also throw in some popcorn and candy to help make your family movie night a great one!
To sign up simply fill out our Dinner/Dessert and Movie survey online or a paper copy at the library. A staff member will then choose some cookbooks and movies just for you to check out. Then we’ll give you a call when your bundle is ready to be picked up! Participants need a valid library card to sign up.

Classic Book Club
Do you love classic literature? Want to meet with others who love it too? Join the classic book club to reread old favorites, and gain new insight!
The May Classic Book Club meeting will be on Thursday, May 13th. There is still time to read “Reading Lolita in Tehran” by Azar Nafisi before the meeting. Masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be in place. This group meets on the 2nd Thursday or every month and is always looking for more participants. Take-and-Make Adult Craft
Craft sign up: April 8th until spots are full

This craft will be available for pick-up starting April 22nd. Pickups will be available for two weeks.
• This craft DOES require a sign-up! Come to the front desk to have the staff sign you up, or call us at 573-756-5779. We do not take sign ups online.
• A valid library card is required to sign up for this program.
• This will be a kit that will contain all the supplies needed and instructions to make your own.
• Kits can be picked up in person or through our curbside service.
• This program is for ages 16 and up only.
Kids Crafternoon Take-and-Make
Craft sign up: March 17th – April 8th
Craft Pick Up: April 8th
This will be a Take-and-Make craft program available to pick up starting on April 8th!
This craft DOES require a sign-up! Come to the front desk to have the staff sign you up, or call us at 573-756-5779. We do not take sign ups online.
• This kit is for kids in ages 3-12 only.
• A valid library card is required to sign up for this program. A parent must have a card if someone signing up is under the age of 5.
• This will be a kit that will contain the supplies needed and instructions to make your very own bird feeder!
• The sign up will be available for 2 weeks or until all available spots are full.
Senior Center Take-and-Make
Teen Book Boxes
Sign up Dates: March 18th – April 20th
Sign up will close early if all available spots are full.
Pick up Dates:
Everyone will be contacted individually for their box pick up.
This box will include items and crafts that are fandom themed, but all the items will be a surprise until you receive your box!
This program is for teens going into grades 6th-12th only. A valid library card is required in order to sign up. Please fill out the survey here in order to sign up. There is a paper copy available at the library for those who wish to fill it out in person. We can not take sign ups over the phone for this program.

Digital Escape Room
The Farmington Public Library Escape from Fairytale Land is here! Anyone may participate in our digital escape room.
The Library will have an online Escape the Room available starting June 22! The link will be posted on our Facebook, Instagram, and website. This will also count as an online event for the Teen and Adult Summer Reading, but anyone can participate for fun! Please make sure to get the code word after you’ve finished escaping if you are counting it as part of your summer reading activity on your board.
Recommended ages are 11 & up.
