Spring Clean-Up

City crews will begin at 7:30 a.m. each morning.  Please have rubbish in containers at the curb or in the alley.  We will not take anything your trash service takes, i.e. trash bags, cardboard boxes, or items in garbage cans.  No leaves, limbs, brush, lumber, shingles, siding or construction waste products will be picked up.  We will not take anything larger than two men can handle.  Appliances must have compressors removed.  If we are unable to complete a ward in a single day, we will finish the following day.  Please check to see what ward you are in, and leave all rubbish by the curb on your specified morning, no later than 7:30 a.m.  There is no call-back.  Please be prompt putting out your Spring Clean-Up items.

Tires may be taken to the Street Department at 210 Industrial Drive on Friday, April 9th for a fee of $2.50 per tire, $3.50 if mounted on wheel.  We will only accept passenger car and light truck (pickup) tires.

FARMINGTON TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING TO GAIN PUBLIC INPUT REGARDING ADA TRANSITION PLAN

Farmington, Missouri (January 11, 2021) – The City of Farmington will conduct a public hearing on January 25, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. at Long Memorial Hall to gain public input regarding the proposed adoption of the 2021 ADA Transition Plan.

The Plan identifies certain areas for improvement in public facilities, services and infrastructure to better facilitate access for persons with disabilities.

CITY OF FARMINGTON ANNOUNCES CLOSURE OF CITY OFFICES DUE TO COVID-19

Farmington, Missouri (November 23, 2020) – The City of Farmington announced this afternoon that due to a number of City employees testing positive for COVID-19, City offices will be closed to public access, except by appointment, beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2020.

“We regret that this action is necessary, but for the safety of our employees and the general public, we are restricting in-person contact for services at City offices.  All persons requiring in-person service may contact the respective office for appointment.  Residents are encouraged to use online or telephone access for needed services during this closure”, said City Administrator Gregory S. Beavers.

The duration of the closure will be determined based on local conditions.  Resident’s cooperation to ensure the safety of City employees and to slow the spread of COVID-19 is appreciated.  Offices will reopen as soon as possible.

Farmington Mayor Encourages Residents to Wear Masks While in Public or in Large Private Gatherings

Farmington, Missouri (August 21, 2020) – Farmington Mayor Larry D. Forsythe has issued a statement encouraging all residents to wear a mask or other face covering while in public.

“The number of cases of COVID-19 is continuing to increase in St. Francois County, so I strongly encourage everyone to follow Center for Disease Control guidelines to wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines while in public, or while in large private gatherings. Slowing the spread of COVID-19 requires everyone’s participation so we can hopefully return to normal life as soon as possible”, said Mayor Forsythe.

FARMINGTON MUNICIPAL COURT UPDATE REGARDING JUNE 10 COURT DATE

Farmington, Missouri (June 1, 2020) – The Farmington Municipal Court has announced the change of time of the municipal court dates scheduled for Wednesday, June 10 at 6:30 p.m. If you received a ticket with a court date of June 10, 2020, time will be 6:30 p.m. If your cases were continued to the 10th and your last name starts with A-K, court will start at 5:30 p.m. If your cases were continued to the 10th and your last name starts with L-Z, court will start at 7:30 p.m.

If you are a vulnerable person as defined by the CDC (an individual 65 years or older or an individual with underlying medical conditions, particularly if not well controlled, including those who suffer from chronic lung disease, moderate to severe asthma, serious heart conditions, immune disorders, obesity, diabetes, or chronic kidney or liver disease) and wish to make special arrangements regarding your court appearance, please call the clerk at 573-756-6787.

Farmington, Missouri (May 18, 2020) – The Farmington Municipal Court has announced the continuance of municipal court dates scheduled for Tuesday, May 26th at 1:00 p.m. unless otherwise notified. Please contact the court office for your new court date.

The Farmington Municipal Court has announced the procedure for court scheduled for Wednesday, May 27th at 6:30 p.m. In order to meet occupancy and social distancing requirements, the court is allowing only defendants themselves to be present (unless specific approval to do otherwise  is obtained through the court clerk) and is limiting the number of people in the court room at any given time by having several small dockets starting at 5:30 p.m. If you have already been assigned a time in a telephone call with the clerk, please be punctual.  If you have not yet been assigned a time by the clerk, please call the clerk at 573-756-6787 to obtain a time for the 27th or a different date.  You are strongly encouraged to wear an appropriate mask for your appearance.
