Sealed bids for the construction of the HILLSBORO TO KARSCH SANITARY SEWER UPGRADES will be received by The City of Farmington, Office of Public Works, 12 South Franklin Street, Farmington, MO 63640, 573-756-0608, until Wednesday, May 31, 2017 @ 2:00 p.m. and at that time the sealed bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting will be held at Taylor Engineering, 109 East Columbia Street, Farmington, MO 63640 on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 @ 1:00 p.m.

The project mostly consists of the installation of approximately 10,366 LF of 18” PVC sewer main, 2,021 LF of 8” PVC sewer main, 48 manholes and all other work necessary for a complete and useable system. Approximately 4,773 LF of the sewer line installation will be the replacement of existing 8” sewer pipe with the new 18” sewer pipe. The sewers in this portion of the project are also mostly located in or on the edge of City or MDOT streets which will require extensive pavement removal and replacement. A significant amount of by-pass pumping will also be required for that portion of the project. The remaining sewers will be installed in mostly open ground along existing right-of- ways.

Copies of the plans, specifications and contract documents may be obtained from the office of the Engineer listed above, upon payment of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00), which is nonrefundable. Checks shall be made payable to Taylor Engineering, LLC.

The Owner hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.

The City (owner) reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and to waive any irregularities in the Bids. If a contract award is made, it will be made to the lowest, best, responsive, responsible bidder, based on the sole determination of the owner. The contract will be awarded based either on the Base Bid or on the Base Bid with Owner selected alternates. This is a prevailing wage project. State wage rates will be used for this project.
