Electric Rates

SECTION 720.100: DEPOSIT REQUIRED

  1. Before a consumer is allowed to use electrical current from the electric distribution system of this City, they shall deposit with the Electric Department as follows:
    1. A residential homeowner without electric heat $ 50.00
    2. A residential homeowner with electric heat 100.00
    3. A residential renter without electric heat 100.00
    4. A residential renter with electric heat 150.00
    5. A trailer or mobile home 100.00
    6. General service, not less than one hundred dollars ($100.00) nor more than one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500.00).
  2. All deposits will be refunded after two (2) years of good credit. “Good credit” shall mean the consumer shall not have been in arrears during the preceding two (2) years. All new residential customers that can establish that he/she had a previous service account with an electrical utility for a period of at least twenty-four (24) months for which all undisputed charges were satisfactorily paid shall not be required to make the above deposit.

SECTION 720.130: ELECTRIC CURRENT MONTHLY RATES AND DEFINITIONS

  1. Residential. Residential rates shall be as follows:
    Customer charge $ 15.00 per month
    Standard energy charge $ 0.0859/kWh
    *Winter energy charge
    First 1,500 kWh $ 0.0859/kWh
    Over 1,500 kWh $ 0.0795/kWh
    Minimum monthly charge $ 15.00
    *Winter energy shall be that energy consumed as evidenced by bills issued November twenty first (21st) through March twentieth (20th).
  2. Schools And Churches. Rates for schools and churches shall be as follows:
    Customer charge, single phase $ 25.00 per month
    Customer charge, three phase $ 35.00 per month
    Energy Charge $ 0.0925/kWh
    Minimum monthly charge
    Single-phase service $ 25.00
    Three-phase service $ 35.00
  3. General Service–Small. Small rates shall be as follows:
    Customer charge, single phase $ 25.00 per month
    Customer charge, three phase $ 35.00 per month
    Energy Charge $ 0.0999/kWh
    Minimum monthly charge
    Single-phase service $ 25.00
    Three-phase service $ 35.00
  4. General Service–Large. Large rates shall be as follows:
    Customer charge $ 65.00 per month
    All kWh $ 0.0759/kWh
    *All kWh demand $ 6.40/kWh
    Primary metering discount 1%
    Ownership of transformers discount 2%

*Kilowatt demand. The kilowatt demand shall be the maximum demand established by the consumer for any period of fifteen (15) consecutive minutes during the month for which the bill is rendered, as indicated or recorded by a demand meter.

Water Rates

SECTION 705.150: DEPOSIT REQUIRED

  1. Before a residential consumer is allowed to use water from the waterworks system of this City, they shall deposit the sum of fifteen dollars ($15.00) with the City. Those consumers receiving general service electrical rates shall pay a water deposit based upon one-sixth (1/6) of the average usage during the previous twelve (12) months or one-sixth (1/6) of the estimated twelve (12) months’ usage, if no prior service existed. The general service deposit shall not be less than fifteen dollars ($15.00) or more than one hundred dollars ($100.00).
  2. All deposits will be refunded after two (2) years of good credit; “good credit” shall mean that the consumer shall not have been in arrears during the past two (2) years.

SECTION 705.160: WATER METERS REQUIRED — RATES PRESCRIBED

Water from the waterworks system of this City shall be furnished through meters and the following rates for the use of water, for the period of one (1) month, are hereby established:

  1. All of the following services within the City limits of the City of Farmington shall be subject to the following minimum rates regardless of the amount of water used:
    5/8″ and ¾” Meter $ 8.70
    1″ Meter $ 15.50
    1½” Meter $ 23.00
    2″ Meter $53.00
    3″ Meter $ 103.00
    4″ Meter $ 173.00
    6″ Meter $ 398.00
  2. For water furnished within the City limits of the City of Farmington the following shall apply:
    All water over two hundred (200) cubic feet, per one hundred (100) cubic feet
    Operation and Maintenance Rate $ 1.12
    Radionuclide Treatment Surcharge $ 0.75
    Radionuclide Equipment Debt Retirement Rate $ 0.66
    Total per one hundred (100) cubic feet for all water over two hundred (200) cubic feet $ 2.53
  3. For water furnished within the City limits of the City of Farmington for heavy commercial and industrial users who exceed seventy thousand (70,000) cubic feet per monthly billing cycle, the following rates will apply:
    All water in excess of two hundred (200) cubic feet but less than seventy thousand (70,000) cubic feet, per one hundred (100) cubic feet
    Operation and Maintenance Rate $ 1.12
    Radionuclide Treatment Surcharge $ 0.75
    Radionuclide Equipment Debt Retirement Rate $ 0.66
    Total per one hundred (100) cubic feet for all water over two hundred (200) cubic feet $ 2.53
    All water in excess of seventy thousand (70,000) cubic feet, per one hundred (100) cubic feet
    Operation and Maintenance Rate $ 1.72
    Radionuclide Treatment Surcharge $ 0.75
    Radionuclide Equipment Debt Retirement Rate $ 0.66
    Total per one hundred (100) cubic feet for all water over two hundred (200) cubic feet $ 3.13
  4. For all water furnished outside the City limits of the City of Farmington
    with connection to City sewer:
    Minimum rate per month not in excess of two hundred (200) cubic feet $ 10.75
    All water over two hundred (200) cubic feet, per one hundred (100) cubic feet
    Operation and Maintenance Rate $ 1.62
    Radionuclide Treatment Surcharge $ 0.75
    Radionuclide Equipment Debt Retirement Rate $ 0.66
    Total per one hundred (100) cubic feet for all water over two hundred (200) cubic feet $ 3.03
  5. For water furnished outside the City limits of the City of Farmington without connection to City sewer:
    Minimum rate per month not in excess of two hundred (200) cubic feet $ 13.55
    All water over two hundred (200) cubic feet, per one hundred (100) cubic feet
    Operation and Maintenance Rate $ 2.87
    Radionuclide Treatment Surcharge $ 0.75
    Radionuclide Equipment Debt Retirement Rate $ 0.66
    Total per one hundred (100) cubic feet for all water over two hundred (200) cubic feet $ 4.28
  6. Special hydrant use:
    Deposit on hydrant and meter
    2½” Meter $ 300.00
    ¾” Meter $ 100.00
    Temporary service and rental–up to one (1) month $ 50.00
    Weekly rental charge after first (1st) month, per week $ 10.00
    All water used, per one hundred (100) cubic feet
    Operation and Maintenance Rate $ 3.47
    Radionuclide Treatment Surcharge $ 0.75
    Radionuclide Equipment Debt Retirement Rate $ 0.66
    Total per one hundred (100) cubic feet for all water over two hundred (200) cubic feet $ 4.88

Sewer Rates

SECTION 710.110: SEWER USE CHARGES — MONTHLY CHARGES IMPOSED — RATES

  1. Inside City Limits–Residential:
    Operation and Maintenance Rate $ 1.49/100 CF of water
    Debt Retirement Rate (2000 SRF) $ .50/100 CF of water
    Major Equipment Replacement Rate $ .05/100 CF of water
    Debt Retirement Rate (2011 COP) $ 0.12/100 CF of water
    Total Sewer Use Charge $ 2.11/100 CF of water
  2. Inside City Limits–General Service And Industrial:
    Operation and Maintenance Rate $ 1.72/100 CF of water
    Debt Retirement Rate (2000 SRF) $ .50/100 CF of water
    Debt Retirement Rate (2011 COP) $ 0.12/100 CF of water
    Total Sewer Use Charge $ 2.34/100 CF of water
  3. Outside City Limits. Those persons living outside the limits of the City who connect to the sewer system of the City shall pay a monthly sewer use charge based upon metered water consumption at a rate of two and one-half (2½) times the rates set out in Subsection (A) above.
