Books on Wheels is a home delivery service for homebound individuals within the city limits of Farmington who cannot come to the library to check out books. If you live in a nursing facility, check with them to see if they currently get Books on Wheels, as we do deliver to several nursing facilities in the area. We deliver new books every two weeks on Thursday afternoon, weather and holidays permitting.
Senior Outreach Center
The Farmington Public Library is expanding its programming for senior citizens and now includes the placement of over 200 items in the Farmington Senior Center at 607 Wallace Road.
Relax and enjoy perusing the selection of materials available for check-out. Enjoy them while waiting for an activity or use your library card, sign the binder, and take the books with you. It operates on the honor system with no due date or fines assessed on the wonderful materials placed there. Let us know what you think about the Senior Outreach Center.
Wireless Internet & Computer Access
The library has 12 public access computers. Card holders may use the computers for up to 1 hour at a time. Visitors who are not members of the Farmington Public Library may use the computers as a guest by agreeing to comply with the library's Internet usage policy, completing a visitors form, and paying the requested $1 fee.Patrons and guests with their own laptops can sign up at the front desk to get access to the library's wireless Internet service. Guests can pay $1 per hour. There is no charge for library cardholders to use this service.
The library also has access to Learning Express Library, Newsbank, Ancestry.com Library Edition, and Heritage Quest Online. These services can be used from the public access computers or a laptop connected to the library's wireless network.

Fax Service
A fax machine is provided for the public. A staff member will fax the material, and the cost will be as follows for either an incoming or outgoing fax:
1. inside the US, $1.50 first page, .50 each page thereafter.
2. outside the US, $3 first page; $1 each page thereafter.
Microfilm
Microfilm readers are available for public use in the Genealogy Department. Copies can be made for 0.10 a page.
Online Resources Provided by MOREnet at the Library
MOREnet offers access to a virtual library of online resources including encyclopedias, journals, periodicals and more to its members.
Gale Databases
The State Library and MOREnet have replaced EBSCOhost with Gale as our provider of online databases. More information on these databases will be available on the website soon, or you can call the library at 573-756-5779 for more information.

NetSmartz - Keeping Kids and Teens Safer on the Internet
The NetSmartz Workshop® is an interactive, educational safety resource from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® and Boys & Girls Clubs of America for children (ages 5-17), parents, guardians, educators and law enforcement that uses age-appropriate, 3-D activities to teach children how to stay safer on the Internet.
Learning Express Library
Learning Express Library is a service that allows you to sharpen your skills and improve your score with practice tests and self-paced courses. Improve reading, writing, and math skills with instant detailed score reports and answer explanations. You can practice for tests such as the ACT, AP, ASVAB, EMS, GED, SAT, GMAT, U.S. Citizenship, and many others.
Ancestry.com and HeritageQuest
The library now has subscriptions to Ancestry.com Library Edition and Heritage Quest Online which can be accessed either from the Genealogy Department or the patron computers.
The Farmington Public Library belongs to a large interlibrary loan network and will order any materials from participating libraries for patron usage. Most items will come via courier service at no charge to the patron. If we are unable to borrow from a library that ships via the courier service, the patron will be asked to pay postage one way on the item when it is picked up. Memorials/Honorariums
Books are a wonderful way to commemorate a special person. Applications are available at the front desk. Once the new book has been obtained by the librarian, a nameplate honoring your special person is inserted in the book. A card is then sent to the person or their family to announce your generous gift.
