Building and Fleet Maintenance Department

The Farmington Building Maintenance Staff is responsible for maintenance and repair of the various buildings owned by the City.

The Building and Fleet Maintenance Department is an important and valuable asset to the inner workings of the City of Farmington always working behind the scenes performing technical duties that go unnoticed by the public.

The Fleet Maintenance section of the Buildings & Fleet Maintenance Division is responsible for ensuring that all City-owned vehicles, heavy equipment and power tools operate in a safe and efficient manner. This entails performing routine preventative maintenance and corrective repair on a diverse array of cars and trucks that allow the Police, Fire, Public Works, Parks, and Community Development Departments to conduct the City's business. Fleet Maintenance maintains all vehicle maintenance records, receives and prepares new vehicles for service, and coordinates warranty and specialized repair work with outside service providers.

Performs repairs and maintenance on city buildings, facilities, city vehicles and equipment. Participates in writing bids and coordinating larger projects.
